Ṛta collects nothing, sends nothing, and has no server. Everything you enter stays on your phone.
The short version: there is no account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no company holding your data. The app calculates everything on the device and never calls out to the network. Nothing here is sold, shared or transferred to anyone.
Who publishes the app
Ṛta (“the app”) is made and published by Axl Maas, an individual developer. Where data-protection law asks who is responsible for personal data handled by the app, that is him, reachable at reframeclips@gmail.com. This policy describes what the app does with your information. It is short because the app does very little with it.
What the app stores, and where
The app asks for your birth date, birth time and birth place. These are used to calculate your birth Nakṣatra, which personalises the reading you see.
All of it is saved only in the app's own local storage on your device. There is no account, no login, no sign-in of any kind, and no server belonging to us that your details could be sent to. Deleting the app deletes this data.
Alongside your birth details, the app stores your reminder preference and two small display settings. All of these are local in the same way.
What the app sends over the network
Nothing.
The calculation of the Pañcāṅga runs entirely on your device, using an astronomy library bundled inside the app. Birth-place search reads a city list that is also bundled inside the app, so typing a place name does not query any online service. The readings, glossary and practice descriptions are all included in the download.
The app contains no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no third-party tracking software of any kind. It does not track you across other apps or websites, and it holds no identifier that could be used to do so.
Third parties
No third party receives your information from the app, because the app transmits none of it. There is no advertising network, no analytics provider, no cloud backup and no data processor working on our behalf. Nothing about you is sold, rented or shared, and there is nothing held that could be handed over in a sale of the business.
Notifications
If you turn reminders on, the app asks your phone for permission to post notifications and schedules them on the device itself. There is no push service involved and nothing about your reminders leaves the phone. Turning reminders off in the app, or withdrawing the notification permission in your phone's settings, stops them.

- Running scheduled reminders — so a reminder you have set survives a restart and arrives on time. This comes with the notification component.
- Internet access — declared by the app framework. The app makes no network requests on its normal path.
The app store you downloaded from
Apple and Google run the stores that distribute the app, and they collect their own information about downloads, purchases and crashes under their own policies, not ours. We receive only the anonymous, aggregated sales figures every developer sees, which say nothing about who you are. If you have opted in to your store's crash or analytics sharing, that arrangement is between you and the store.
Children
Ṛta is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Your rights, and deleting everything
Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar laws, you have rights to see, correct, export, restrict and delete the personal data a company holds about you. Because we hold none, there is nothing for us to send you, correct or erase, and no consent to withdraw. We do not sell or share personal information, and never have.
Your birth details are yours to edit at any time from the profile screen inside the app. To remove everything the app has stored, clear the app's data in your phone's settings or delete the app. If you believe we have handled data wrongly, you can write to us at the address above, and you also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Ṛta is for personal interest and wellbeing. It does not diagnose, treat or predict any medical condition, and nothing in it is a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. The suggested āsana are general practice suggestions. Practise within your own limits and consult a doctor before starting new physical activity if you have any reason for concern.

Changes to this policy
If the app ever starts handling information differently, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change. Every past version of this page is public in its revision history.
